El Tri came out quick against a conservative start by Team USA, but weren't able to capitalize on early opportunities and failed to create any sort of response in the second half after the U.S., playing without stars Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore, scored twice.

Eddie Johnson put the U.S. ahead with a spectacular header in the 49th minute and Landon Donovan later put the game away off of a nice cross from Mix Diskerud, who had come in as a substitute just minutes earlier. The U.S. team also got some help from Honduras, who tied Panama 2-2, officially punching USA's ticket to the World Cup in regional qualifying.
And that's how it's done, boys! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
