Ryan Seacrest Booed at 2013 NFL Season Kick-Off Game

Ryan Seacrest's career in football may be over. The 38-year-old TV super host got booed when taking the field at the Baltimore Ravens vs. Denver Broncos for the 2013 NFL season kick-off on Thursday, Sept. 5.

As he entered the field in Denver surrounded by Broncos cheerleaders, the stadium announced, "Please welcome . . . Ryan Seacrest!" Unfortunately for Seacrest, the crowd wasn't very welcoming and loud boos could be heard from the stands.

The American Idol star, however, didn't seem to notice and took the mic to introduce the start of the game. "I only know of one other countdown that might be as big as this one. America is ready for 17 weeks of excitement, followed by the drama of the playoffs, all culminating in New York at the Super Bowl!" Seacrest said. "So come on Denver, let's join these football greats -- representing all 32 teams -- and ring in the NFL season! Here we go!" Thankfully, his little speech seemed to do the trick and got the crowd cheering for the game.

But Seacrest himself seemed to agree that he may not be a good fit for the hosting duty. After the incident, he jokingly posted a photo of himself surrounded on the field by cheerleaders with the caption, "Which one of these doesn't belong? #Kickoff2013."

Prepping for the big day the night before, the sharp-dressed mogul tweeted, "Headed to the NFL season opener tomorrow . . . is it bad if I lay out my outfit the night before? #Kickoff2013." He later added, "Working the NFL season opener! Finally those 2-a-days paid off. I hope my high school coach is watching. #KickOff2013."

Even if Seacrest doesn't get asked back again next year, he has plenty of other jobs to keep him busy like American Idol, New Year's Rockin' Eve, TODAY Show, E!, Weekend Top 40 and his upcoming Million Second Quiz game show -- to name a few.
