NBC Buys Supernatural Mystery From ‘Eagle Eye’s’ John Glenn

NBC is following John Glenn into genre territory.

The network has snatched up a supernatural project, titled Conception, from the Eagle Eye’s scribe. The drama, for which NBC had made a put pilot commitment, is being billed as a mystery that tracks a modern-day immaculate conception on a much larger scale. It follows those few children who survived and how they're destined to change the world.

The hour-long effort is set up at Universal Television, where his eponymous John Glenn Entertainment has an overall deal. He will executive produce alongside former MTV chief David Janollari, whose David Janollari Entertainment is also set up at the studio. Glenn also will pen the script with Lars Jacobson.

The sale is a continuation of Glenn’s prolific push in both features and TV. Last season, he created and wrote two high-profile NBC pilots, the modern-day reinvention of Hatfields & McCoys as well as Lost Horizon with M. Night Shyamalan. (Neither were ultimately ordered to series.)

Glenn also created Fix It Men, which is being put together as an international co-production show with Sonar Entertainment, ABC Studios and Mark Gordon. On the big screen, he's delivered the feature Abducted to Paramount and is working with Norwegian director Andre Ovredal on a franchise spec.

For his part, Jacobson recently completed Cardiac for Fox, and has C.O.D. in development at Paramount with Michael Bay producing.

Glenn is repped by WME and Brian Lutz Management; Jacobson is repped by Brian Lutz.
