Brand-strategy and content-alignment company NewMediaMetrics has seen the future of fall TV.
In its 2013 LEAP TV Study, the company measured consumers' emotional attachment (EA) to the concepts behind upcoming broadcast and cable programming to determine the most -- and least -- likely shows to succeed. For the past seven years, NMM has had an 80 percent accuracy rating when making the same predictions through its Leveraging Emotional Attachment for Profit Index.

This year, the LEAP survey has crowned CBS' Robin Williams-Sarah Michelle Gellar comedy The Crazy Ones the most likely to succeed (i.e. earn a second season renewal) among the 250 broadcast and cable shows it reviewed. NBC, which is returning only two of last year's freshman class, has three shows on the list.
On the flip side, ABC's lottery drama Lucky 7 -- a remake of British entry The Syndicate -- was determined to be the show least likely to earn a back-nine order. Joining it on the list are Fox's controversial comedy Dads and ABC's Rebel Wilson starrer Super Fun Night, which was redeveloped at the network after CBS passed on the half-hour last year.
