Orlando Bloom is “on the brink of landing the role of Batman!!!” reports Perez Hilton, who has a spotty track record when it comes to casting scoops.
The blogger claims that a “senior source at Warner Bros. has confirmed that Orlando is indeed their top choice to play the caped-crusader in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel.”
Perez quotes the supposed source as saying, “Orlando looks odds-on to get the part even before our first casting call.”
He adds, “If this is true, that means Bloom will be teaming up with his fellow Englishman Henry Cavill as Superman in the EPIC movie.”
Key word: If.
Instead of simply regurgitating the flimsy report like Perez, Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Bloom, who tells us, “This appears to be internet gossip.”
Another EPIC fail for Perez.
