RECAPDesiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried celebrated their engagement on Monday’s live “The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose” special.
As Gossip Cop reported earlier, the mortgage broker proposed to Hartsock on “The Bachelorette” finale, and she accepted.
The result stunned many who expected Brooks Forester to return to the show, even after he broke Hartsock’s heart by breaking up with her during part one of the finale.
Asked how she went from that heartbreak to accepting Siegfried’s proposal, Hartsock told host Chris Harrison, “Sometimes you have to go through the hard and the difficult to get to the good.”
The bridal stylist went on to explain her devastation over Forester as being in “the heat of the moment,” and said she wouldn’t have continued the journey afterward if she didn’t see a “lifetime” with Siegfried.
But before she could rejoice in her happy ending, Hartsock had to face Brooks for the first time since he left Antigua.
The marketing consultant admitted that “a lot of feelings resurfaced in the last week” as he re-watched everything play out on TV, and the brunette asked him why he changed his mind about her.

Forester replied that when he wasn’t with Hartsock, he found himself “a little bit behind” in his feelings, and he couldn’t overcome those reality checks and doubts.
“I thought and still do think I was honest as I could be with the information that I had,” the one-time frontrunner said, going on to call “hindsight 20/20.”
Hartsock said she doesn’t have “any” regrets about what went down, and Forester didn’t seem to be surprised that she’s now engaged to Siegfried.
Next, the reality star faced Drew Kenney, whom she dumped early on in Monday’s finale, and he quickly admitted to having “a flood of emotions” at seeing her for the first time in three months.
“It’s a long recovery process,” he said, going on to say he felt left “unceremoniously” brokenhearted and shocked by Hartsock’s decision.
She explained that there was nothing the digital marketing analyst could have done differently, and she felt obligated to follow her heart.
Kenney, who said he wasn’t still in love with her, went on to call Siegfried a “lucky guy,” and told Hartsock he “could smile knowing you got what you were looking for.”
Siegfried finally got to come out and join his fiancée, telling the audience he “couldn’t be happier.”
The Seattleite said he felt confident in their relationship despite how upset she clearly was over Forester, and both reaffirmed their commitment to each other, giggling like schoolchildren as they re-watched their proposal.
Hartsock revealed she’ll be moving to Seattle this weekend, where the couple has found a place to call their own.
And Siegfried also surprised her by presenting a brand-new poem — a nod to the love notes they exchanged throughout the season — framed with the dried petals from all the roses he received at all the ceremonies.
Interestingly, wedding plans were never mentioned.
