Katy Perry addresses the rumors linking her to Robert Pattinson in the September issue of ELLE UK.
Following Pattinson’s split from Kristen Stewart, a number of outlets spread false stories about Perry and Pattinson striking up a romance.
(There was a similar wave of rumors about the friends after last year’s Stewart-Pattinson breakup — also untrue.)
Gossip Cop consistently debunked the Pattinson-Perry link, because unlike, say, HollywoodLife, we don’t print whatever we feel like out of desperation.
Now Perry is backing up everything we said.
She tells ELLE UK, “I sent her [Stewart] a text message saying, ‘I know you’ve seen all this stuff, but you know I would never disrespect you. I’m not that person. I’m just trying to be a friend to him but it is unfortunate that I do have a set of tits.’”
There you have it.
Perry also opens up to the magazine about her actual romance with John Mayer.
Referring to their brief split last March, the singer says, “He pulled away. That was a big hello for me. I realized I could lose the person I loved and I had to deal with some things, issues I think a lot of women have. You can be strong in one aspect of your life but submissive in another.”
“The men I have gone for are challenging, yes, but they’re also wildly intelligent and poetic. I’m not interested in taming anyone,” reveals Perry. “I’m pretty wild myself.”
