The CW is making some big changes to its fall premiere schedule.
Instead of debuting in its Tuesday time slot, The Originals will now receive the plum post-The Vampire Diaries slot on Oct. 3 — an attempt by the network at giving the spinoff series more exposure following its flagship drama. The Originals will make its Tuesday time period debut Oct. 8 at 8 p.m., when it will go up against ABC's anticipated Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.
This means that Vampire Diaries debuts one week earlier than originally anticipated, while Reign — which will air Thursdays at 9 p.m. will launch Oct. 17, a week later. An encore of the second episode of The Originals will air Oct. 10 following Vampire Diaries.
Supernatural will also premiere one week earlier than previously scheduled, returning Oct. 8 at 9 p.m. following The Originals.
