“Supernatural” is getting a spinoff.
The long-running CW show’s executive producer Bob Singer revealed the news at Comic-Con on Sunday.
Details about the show are limited, but the seed will be planted in a “Supernatural” episode planned for the late stages of its upcoming ninth season.
A new character is expected to be introduced to the audience in a backdoor pilot episode for the still untitled spinoff series.
Last spring, the CW used an episode of “The Vampire Diaries” as the launchpad for a spinoff called “The Originals.”
