ABC
"Extreme Weight Loss"
ABC is already working on the next installment of Extreme Weight Loss. The network announced Monday that the reality series has been renewed for a fourth season, likely set to debut in 2014.
Currently airing its third season on the network, the Eyeworks USA production follows "super obese" people making major lifestyle changes to lose weight. The fourth season, which follows individuals for a full year, will include 13 two-hour episodes.
Host and trainer Chris Powell will return to the series, though now the first 90 days of treatment will take place at University of Colorado’s Anschutz Health and Wellness Center. Facility medical director Dr. Holly Wyatt will work alongside Powell to help the participants lose weight.
Though a soft performer on Tuesday nights, Extreme Weight Loss has been consistent for ABC. The most recent episode averaged a 1.2 rating with adults 18-49 and 3.92 million viewers.
