The Good Wife is starting to ramp up for season five.
Alias veteran Melissa George, who starred in Cinemax's Hunted, has booked a major recurring role on the CBS legal drama, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.
Slated to appear in multiple episodes, George will play Marilyn, the recently-elected Illinois Governor Peter Florrick's (Chris Noth) in-house ethics counsel, as TVLine first reported. Said to be smart, sexy and savvy, Marilyn is a stickler for honesty and following the rules.
George, who was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2009 for her supporting turn in In Treatment, played Lauren Reed for more than 20 episodes on Alias. Other TV credits include Bag of Bones, Grey's Anatomy and Lie to Me. She is repped by ICM Partners and 3 Arts.
The Good Wife returns 9 p.m. Sept. 29 on CBS.
