‘Man of Steel’ Among Features Landing at FX

FX Networks is adding this summer's movies it its vast portfolio.

The cable network on Thursday announced that it has acquired commercial television premiere rights to seven films, including Man of Steel.

Joining the record-setting Henry Cavill starrer from Warner Bros. are Universal's The Purge, Fast & Furious 6, Paramount's Star Trek Into Darkness, Sony's This Is the End, Fox's The Internship and Epic.

With the acquisitions, FX has now landed 71 percent of the year's highest-grossing weekend films -- 17 out of 24. The films join the previously announced Iron Man 3, Pain and Gain, Oblivion, The Croods, A Good Day to Die Hard, Evil Dead, Identity Theft, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Mama and Zero Dark Thirty.

The features will join the FX Networks library in mid- to late 2015.

The move comes as FX continues to ramp up its feature film library in advance of launching younger-skewing network FXX on Sept. 2.
