“Family Guy” is known for mocking pop culture, so it should come as no shock that the show spoofs “Girls” in its new campaign for an Emmy Award.
The image shows the animated series’ Peter, Brian, Quagmire, and Joe posing as “Girls” quartet Hannah, Marnie, Jessa, and Shoshanna from the HBO hit’s first season poster.

Most striking might be the tag line — “Here’s A Load Of Comedy To Shoot On Your Chest” — which not so subtlely references an infamous and controversial sex scene from “Girls.”
Whether the gambit will result in an Outstanding Comedy Series trophy for “Family Guy” remains to be seen.
