MTV has set a premiere date for The Challenge: Rivals II.
In the new season launching July 10 at 10 p.m., 32 men and women travel to Thailand to compete in teams of two. Previous castmembers of The Challenge as well as Real World favorites (including the most recent Portland edition) will be paired up with their rivals — and as MTV touts, there will be more money at play, meaning an even crazier season.
The pairs competing this summer are CT/Wes, Paula/Emily, Frank/Johnny, Trishelle/Sarah, Leroy/Ty, Diem/Aneesa, Knight/Preston, Camila/Jemmye, Robb/Derek, Naomi/Cooke, Jordan/Marlon, Jonna/Nany, Dunbar/Tyrie, Anastasia/Jessica, Zach/Trey and Jasmine/Theresa. T.J Lavin returns as host.
The new trailer will debut Monday night during an original episode of Teen Wolf during the 10-11 p.m. hour., but you can watch it first here. According to MTV, things go downhill in the house in a hurry after a twist catches the competitors off-guard.
It's an intriguing concept, having MTV mainstays teaming up with their "worst enemy." Which pairs will actually set their eyes on the prize instead of letting their grudges overtake their lives? (As one competitor eloquently puts it: "What do you like more? Money or the bulls---?!") How intense — physically, emotionally and mentally — will the in-fighting get in the house?
Later this month, MTV will host a special touting The Challenge: Rivals II with former Jersey Shore star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Kenny Santucci that will include commentary from castmembers and comedians featured on Girl Code and Guy Code, as well as spotlight the biggest moments from The Challenge franchise. The one-hour special airs 10 p.m. June 26.
