Justin Theroux is heading to HBO.
Jennifer Aniston’s beau will star in the network’s upcoming pilot for “The Leftovers,” a show based on Tom Perrotta’s book about the aftermath of The Rapture, which happens “not quite like it’s supposed to.”
Theroux will play Kevin Garvey, a police chief and father in a town facing the apocalypse.
Damon Lindelof (“Lost” and Star Trek) will write the project with Perrotta, and Peter Berg is set to direct the pilot.
Theroux’s previous TV work has included parts on “Parks and Recreation” and HBO’s “Six Feet Under.”
