“Taylor Swift Does NOT Want Selena Gomez Dating Justin Bieber Because She’s JEALOUS?!” blares a headline from Perez Hilton, who claims Swift stuck out her tongue when she saw the on-and-off couple kissing at the Billboard Music Awards because she’s envious of their relationship.
The blogger quotes a so-called “insider” as saying, “Let’s put it this way: Taylor is not a Belieber.”
Ah, yes, because people who are close to celebrities use terms like “Belieber” in everyday conversation.
Anyway, the supposed “source” adds that Swift is “also a little bit jealous in a weird way.”
“Taylor is jealous that Selena still has Justin as ‘her person’ to go to,” explains the “insider.”
Perez then offers his own two cents (which no one asked for), writing, “For a girl who never shuts up about her various romances (literally, she’s always singing about them), you’d think she’d be a little more understanding, LOLz!”
And you’d think that for someone who has been blogging as long as Perez has, he’d have a better understanding that good journalism requires fact-checking.
Fortunately, Gossip Cop does.
We spoke to a Swift insider about the jealousy claims, and we were told, “That couldn’t be further from the truth.”
