TV Ratings: Extended Masters Coverage Drives CBS to Sunday Win

Final-round coverage of the Masters leaked into CBS primetime Sunday night, surging from last year's telecast of the PGA flagship. Overnight ratings for the tournament have it up 26 percent compared with 2012 in Nielsen's metered markets. It averaged a 10.2 rating among households, peaking between 7 and 7:30 p.m. EDT with a 13.4 rating.

Nearly an hour's worth of golf overrun because of a playoff between eventual winner Adam Scott and Angel Cabrera meant that the networks' Fast National primetime returns -- 60 Minutes (2.4 rating in adults 18-to-49), Amazing Race (2.0) and The Good Wife (1.7) -- are all approximate, but CBS won the night easily in adults 18-to-49 (2.6) and total viewers (12.4 million).
