TV Ratings: Boosted Masters Coverage Drives CBS to Sunday Win

Final-round coverage of the Masters leaked into CBS primetime on Sunday night, surging from last year's telecast of the PGA flagship. Overnight ratings for the tournament have it up 26 percent from 2012 in Nielsen's metered markets. It averaged a 10.2 rating among households, peaking between 7 and 7:30 p.m. ET with a 13.4 rating.

Almost an hour's worth of golf overrun means that the networks' Fast National primetime returns -- 60 Minutes (2.4 adults), Amazing Race (2.0 adults), The Good Wife (1.7 adults) -- are all approximate, but CBS won the night easily with adults 18-49 (2.6 adults) and total viewers (12.4 million).

Family Guy (2.4 adults) was off by two tenths of a point, and American Dad (2.0 adults) shed three tenths. The network averaged a 1.6 rating with adults 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers.
