The original “American Idol,” Kelly Clarkson, returned to the show on Thursday.
The singer — who won the inaugural season in 2002 — performed her latest single, “People Like Us.”

Afterward, Clarkson confessed she was so nervous performing in front of Mariah Carey, and admitted that if she had to audition in front of the music legend, “I would’ve vomited on the stage!”
“I’m so glad you’re not mean,” Clarkson adorably told the new judge.
