New Kids on the Block’s iHeartRadio concert in New York on Thursday had a small hitch: Jonathan Knight disappeared halfway through the live-streamed event.

According to reports, Knight walked off stage in the middle of the boy band’s set, and despite chants from the crowd to return, he never did.

Knight’s unusual behavior reportedly began earlier in the show, with the singer out of synch with his band mates, staying towards the back of the stage, and even at one point taking a call on his cell phone.

He eventually left the stage mid-song, reports Billboard.

Knight, who has been open about struggling with anxiety in the past, tweeted after the show, “I’m sorry…”

Before the show he had tweeted, “#ifeelnaked.”

No official explanation was given for his disappearance, but his fellow NKOTB members downplayed the seriousness on stage, joking that Knight was stuck in the bathroom and that the absence would “make TMZ.”

“We love Jonathan and he loves us,” Joey McIntyre reportedly told the crowd.

And Donnie Wahlberg tweeted after the concert, “To recap- Joe was especially dazzling! Jordan was especially amazing! Danny was especially solid & Jon was especially shy! #Allsystemsnormal.”

The group has been busy promoting their new album and upcoming tour, and Knight managed to make their “Today Show” appearance — their second this week — on Friday morning.
