Amber Holcomb more than conquered rock night on Wednesday’s “American Idol.”
The singer scored a standing ovation for her cover of Heart’s “What About Love,” with all four judges praising the song choice.
Nicki Minaj told Holcomb, “The first line out of your mouth just completely melted me… This has to be my favorite of the night so far, to be honest.”
“You look amazing, you sound amazing,” said Randy Jackson, adding, “And what I love is you didn’t lose Amber in there… You really found yourself in there. I just love, love this performance. Very well done. Excellent.”
And Mariah Carey called the performance “a-mazing,” pointing out how much Holcomb has grown as an artist and a star since her first audition.
