Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon Sing About NBC’s Late-Night Woes With ‘Tonight’ Duet (Video)

Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon teamed up for a duet addressing NBC's late-night woes on Monday night's Late Night.

The introduction to Monday's show, the first part of which had hit the Internet earlier that day, shows Leno and Fallon chatting on the phone. The video also includes shots of several magazines and newspapers that have covered the story of NBC's late-night woes, including the most recent edition of The Hollywood Reporter, which features the cover story "The War on Leno."

"Hey kid, how you holding up?" Leno asks Fallon of the media attention that has been given to both hosts since news broke that NBC was planning to remove Leno from his Tonight Show perch and replace him with Fallon in 2014.

"I'll live," Leno replies, when asked by Fallon how he's doing. "I've been through this before. I'll admit I'm a little sick of all this."

Leno also tells Fallon that the two are still friends before they launch into a rendition of West Side Story's "Tonight."

Sample lyrics:

Fallon: "In the news all the say is I'm replacing you, they think I can woo the demo."

Leno: "So the network says here's an idea, pack your bags, take a hike, NBC-ya."

Leno later sings: "Tonight, tonight, I've got Fox on the line, or maybe I could take over for Dave."

The bit ends with a melancholy Leno looking out the window after having told Fallon to "do a good show." "Thanks," says Fallon.
