The Evolution Of Women On The Cover Of Esquire Magazine

Have women always been “ornamental” on the cover of Esquire ? We combed the archives to find out.

Esquire editor Alex Bilmes said the following on a panel at Advertising Week Europe:

"The women we feature in the magazine are ornamental. I could lie to you if you want and say we are interested in their brains as well. We are not. They are objectified."

So we thought it'd be worth a stroll down memory lane to see how women have looked on the cover of the magazine since its inception in 1933. Here goes!
