Sean Hayes is heading to NBC's Smash and he's bringing the crazy with him.
Hayes plays Terrence Falls, a comedic TV and film star eyeing a career transformation by making his Broadway debut in the musical Liaisons. However, due to a series of comedic circumstances, he becomes a thorn in the side of Ivy and other characters.

In the exclusive scene, below, from the March 5 "The Read-Through" episode, the former Will & Grace star doesn't quite make the best impression on diva-to-be Ivy (Megan Hilty). The energetic Terrence reveals that in order for him to be a dramatic actor, he needs to really feel everything -- and opts to ditch the laundry list of prescription meds he's been taking as they're "cutting him off from feeling every moment."
Despite the multiple-episode gig, Hayes will not be sharing a scene with his former Will & Grace co-star, Debra Messing.

"When you see the storyline, you will see that there was really no way to have them interact," new showrunner Josh Safran (Gossip Girl) recently told The Hollywood Reporter. "It would have been forced, and very clear to the audience that we were just forcing a connection for them. I thought about it; there were ways to do it, but I felt like the audience would know that we were just trying to force something, and that's wrong. I think it's cool that you can watch an episode and see Sean and Debra and not see them interact."
