With super-sized two-hour American Idol, Fox saw growth from last Thursday's outing and topped the night with adults 18-49. Idol was up two tenths of a point for an average 3.9 adults rating, narrowly losing the total viewers crown to CBS with 13.5 million.
The Big Bang Theory (5.4 adults) was off just a tenth of a point from last week's showing, still easily topping all other programs for the night. Two and a Half Men (3.9 adults) was up by a tenth of a point. Person of Interest (2.9 adults) was also off a tenth of a point from last week, while Elementary was steady with a 2.3 adults rating. CBS averaged a 3.3 rating with adults 18-49 and 13.52 million viewers.

ABC saw the second episode of Zero Hour (1.1 adults) fall three tenths of a point, slipping below The CW's Vampire Diaries and NBC comedies during the hour. Grey's Anatomy (3.0 adults) was up two tenths of a point from the previous week ahead of a steady Scandal (2.7 adults). The network averaged a 2.2 rating with adults 18-49 and 7.2 million viewers.
Community (1.1 adults) was down a tenth of a point from last week, while Parks and Recreation (1.3 adults) dropped two tenths of a point. Both were at series lows. A special 9 p.m. Parks and Recreation (1.4 adults) built on its lead but was still a tenth of a point shy from last week. 1600 Penn (1.0 adults), off the schedule last week, was down a tenth of a point from its last original. NBC ran an encore of Law & Order: SVU at 10 p.m., bringing an average 1.2 adults rating and 3.2 million viewers for the night.

The CW had a lot to brag about on Thursday night. Not only did The Vampire Diaries jump 30 percent to a 1.3 adults rating, its demo score put it ahead of NBC and ABC in the hour. Beauty and the Beast (0.6 adults) saw a small boost from its lead, rising by a tenth of a point. The CW averaged a 0.9 adults rating and 2.2 million viewers.
Univision also had an exceptionally good night, averaging a 2.5 rating with adults 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers.
