David Harewood
David Harewood is back in business with his Homeland producers.
The British actor, best known for his role as David Estes in the Emmy-winning Showtime drama, has been tapped to co-star in the CBS pilot Anatomy of Violence. The CIA drama hails from Homeland’s writer-producer trio Howard Gordon, Alex Cary and Alex Gansa.
Violence, which is inspired by Adrian Raine’s nonfiction title, The Anatomy of Violence: The Biological Roots of Crime, is familiar territory for the Homeland gang. The hourlong entry will center on Dr. Raines, a criminal psychologist with an expertise in sociopaths who partners with a young female detective with whom he shares a conflicted past.

Harewood, who was killed off in Homeland’s second season finale, will play the part of Alejo, Special Agent in Charge, who is a celebrated profiler and Raines' boss and friend. He is repped by APA and Authentic Talent and Literary Management.
The news comes as Fox 21's Homeland continues to beef up its writing staff with Carey and Gordon's roles likely diminished and Meredith Stiehm exiting to run FX series The Bridge. As The Hollywood Reporter reported, Judging Amy's Barbara Hall is currently finalizing a deal to join recently hired James Yoshimura as writer-producers.
