"Scandal's" Eric Mabius and Kerry Washington
ABC's Scandal is compiling quite a client list for Olivia Pope & Associates.
Fresh off news that House's Lisa Edelstein has booked a gig as a client for Olivia Pope, the political fixer drama has added another high-profile guest star in Ugly Betty's Eric Mabius, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
The actor, who most recently guest starred on USA's Political Animals, has been tapped to play Sen. Peter Caldwell, a member of a powerful political family who turns to OPA for advice from Olivia (Kerry Washington).

Mabius will appear in at least one episode of the Shonda Rhimes drama. He's scheduled to appear in the Feb. 21 hour titled "Boom Goes the Dynamite." (Check out a photo of his appearance, above.)
"We always start out the season telling a case of the week [format] and then as our over-arching story ramps up we lose the case of the week and our case of the week becomes this bigger story that we're telling," Rhimes told reporters during a recent set visit. "We did that last season and we're doing it this season. We're telling this season in 13 and nine [episodes]. So at the end of the 13, we'll get back to our case of the week for a while and then we may not do it again."
Mabius, whose credits include The L Word and episodes of Franklin & Bash and The Client List, is repped by ICM Partners, GEF Entertainment and Baker Winokur.
Scandal airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on ABC. Check back to THR's The Live Feed on Thursday night for our weekly Scandal Case Study interview with a castmember/EP.
