Hillsborough County Animal Control Officers recently saved 26 pit bull terriers from a Florida dog fighting ring. They found the dogs chained up in the back yard, many of them bleeding from open wounds.
Animal welfare officers investigating the dog-fighting ring and charges are expected to be filed soon. Adoptions for the recently rescued pitbulls are slow-moving, with experts now assessing how physically and mentally damaged the dogs are.
