Part of USA's "Characters Unite" public service initiative, the doc combats prejudice and discrimination. Each of the participating athletes reveal their own personal stories, pairing each of the players with a child or teenager in their community currently facing those same challenges.

Fitzgerald, McClain, Tuck and executive producers Charlie Ebersol and Justin Hochberg of The Hochberg Ebersol Company, which produced NFL Characters Unite, were on hand Thursday morning near the site of Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans to discuss the one-hour film narrated by Cris Collingsworth.

The second NFL Characters Unite documentary airs Friday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. on USA.
