Robin Roberts quietly returned to the set of Good Morning America early Thursday morning for a "test run," several months after taking leave to undergo a bone marrow transplant.
She arrived to GMA's Manhattan studio at 5 a.m., reports ABC News, which issued this statement from Roberts: "What a thrill to be back at 'GMA''s Times Square Studio this morning and see the best folks in the world, my ‘GMA’ family. I can’t wait to get back to the anchor chair in a few weeks.”
The co-host of the top-rated morning show -- who's been off duty since late August while battling a rare form of leukemia called myelodisplastic syndrome, for which she received a bone marrow transplant the next month -- announced her return via satellite Jan. 14.
"I should be back sometime in February,” Roberts said. "Now I have a date in mind that's very personal and very important to me, but I will ultimately listen to, of course, what my doctors say, and we have to remember we're in the height of flu season. There's a lot of factors still."
