Christmas came early for the children at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital in Nashville when original American Idol Kelly Clarkson decked the halls with traditional Christmas carols, personal visits and plenty of holiday cheer as part of the singer's volunteer work with Musicians on Call.

"This is such a special time of year and I'm so happy to be able to share it with all of these great kids. I'm probably having just as much, if not more, fun than they are," said the singer as she performed a special acoustic concert in the Children's Hospital Theater.

STORY: Kelly Clarkson Gets Engaged

The big-hearted Idol entertained her pint-sized fan base with cheery renditions and group singalongs of holiday favorites like "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer," "White Christmas," and "All I Want For Christmas is You."

Clarkson then made personal visits throughout the hospital as she and a lone guitarist Christmas caroled and spent quality time with patients who were unable to attend the show in their rooms.

The 30-year old Texas native, who just announced her engagement to Brandon Blackstock, joins a long list of Nashville musicians donating their time to Musicians on Call, including season-five Idol alum Kellie Pickler, and Hootie and the Blowfish lead singer Darius Rucker.
