VIDEO“X Factor” had a solemn but incredibly moving opening on Wednesday, with the show’s contestants paying tribute to the victims of Friday’s massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
After a short speech by Simon Cowell offering condolences, previously eliminated contestants joined the Top 3 for an emotional performance of Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone.”

In a poignant reference to the 20 kids who were senselessly killed in the tragedy, the contestants were joined on stage by a children’s choir as the names of the lost flashed on a screen behind them.
