As The Office marches toward its series finale, Greg Daniels is having a busy development season.
The creator of the NBC veteran has sold a comedy about a tennis pro to Fox, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The untitled single-camera comedy revolves around Richie, a mediocre professional tennis player who returns to his college town -- the scene of his greatness -- in order to reboot his life. There, he's caught between a lifestyle he never got to live -- embodied by his carefree, bar owning younger brother Tom -- and Kristen, the love of his life whom he'll have to grow up for in order to get.
Tom Gormican, who penned the upcoming Zac Efron feature Are We Officially Dating?, and Richie Keen (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Important Things With Demetri Martin) will pen the script and executive produce alongside Daniels and his Deedle-Dee Productions, with Howard Klein (The Office), Tracy Katsky (Lucky Louie) and Oly Obst also on board to executive produce.
In addition to Universal Television's untitled tennis comedy, Daniels has a slew of other projects set up this development season. At NBC, he has a comedy with The Office's Craig Robinson; a workplace vehicle with The Office's Brian Baumgartner at ABC; and two other comedies at NBC with both Katsky and Klein attached.
Daniels announced in August that The Office would end after its current ninth season. Plans for a Rainn Wilson spinoff called The Farm, which will still air as an episode of The Office, were scrapped earlier this season at NBC.
Gormican is repped by WME, 3 Arts and Bloom Hergott. Keen is with CAA and Lonestar. Daniels is handled by WME, 3 Arts and Ziffren Brittenham.
