"Vertigo" Score Goes With Everything

Seen Alfred Hitchcock's “Vertigo” yet? It doesn't really matter. Chances are you've heard bits of Bernard Hermann's iconic score at one point or another.

Maybe you caught it in Michel Hazanavicius’s 2011 silent film "The Artist" -- the one criticized by "Vertigo" actress Kim Novak because "it is morally wrong ... to use and abuse famous pieces of work to gain attention and applause for other than what they were intended." The jury may still be out on Novak's moral claims, but plenty of video artists have since mashed up Hermann's work with all sorts of titles. And you know what? They proved her right: Vertigo'ing pretty much any movie moment can class up the crappiest of 'em.
