Blaec Lammers, a 20-year-old from Bolivar, Missouri, was charged Friday morning with first-degree assault, making a terrorist threat and armed criminal action, according to the Springfield News-Leader.

Lammers admitted to purchasing two assault rifles and 400 rounds of ammunition. He apparently planned to use them at a Sunday night screening of the new Twilight film. But on Thursday, his suspicious mother contacted police, leading to his questioning and arrest.

The police report indicates Lammers identifies with people like James Holmes, the 24-year-old suspected of killing 12 and injuring 58 this summer at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises:

Blaec Lammers stated that he had a lot in common with the people that have been involved in those shootings. Blaec Lammers state [sic] that he was quiet, kind of a loner, had recently purchased firearms and didn't tell anybody about it, and had homicidal thoughts.

Lammers reportedly told police he'd never shot a gun prior to Tuesday, when he drove to a separate town to practice.
