‘Private Practice’: ‘Without a Trace’ Alum Drudges Up Grief for Violet (Exclusive)

Violet's grief will bubble back up to the surface soon on Private Practice.

The ABC medical drama has re-enlisted Without a Trace's Marianne Jean-Baptiste for a return visit to Seaside Wellness, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

STORY: 'Private Practice' to End After 13-Episode Sixth Season

Jean-Baptiste, who first appeared in the Violet-themed third episode of the season as a member of her support group as the former coped with Pete's sudden death, will reprise her role as Gabi.

She'll appear in the eighth episode of Private's final season when Gabi bumps into Violet at the hospital and the duo share notes on their grief process when Gabi leans on Violet (Amy Brenneman) while struggling to decide whether or not to let go of her girlfriend, who's on life support.

The process ultimately prompts Violet to reflect on her relationship with Pete (Tim Daly) during the Cooper-centric episode tentatively scheduled to air Dec. 6.

Jean-Baptiste's credits also include Harry's Law andSons of Anarchy.

Private Practice, which will end its run this season, will air twice next week, with an Addison (Kate Walsh)-centric episode airing Tuesday at 10 p.m. and a Jake (Benjamin Bratt) hour on Wednesday at 10 p.m. on ABC.
