The top 12 dwindled down to 10 on The Voice on Tuesday in the first live elimination show. Of course, it wouldn't be season three without a few extra changes.
First, though each of the four coaches brought their top three team members to this stage of the competition, the two artists with the lowest votes were sent home -- no matter which team they're on. Unlike previous seasons, the coaches are not guaranteed a contestant to root for in the two-hour finale on Dec. 18.

Even more so, Carson Daly announced that every Voice cover purchased on iTunes, beginning Tuesday night, will count as a vote toward that artist in the finale. This means that whoever wins season three may not be the singer with the best final performance but the one who delivers chart-topping musical moments consistently.
Following the world premiere of Christina Aguilera's new single, "Make the World Move," with Cee Lo Green, a disco time warp with Green and his team singing Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive," a cover of "Life Is a Highway" by Blake Shelton and his team, and a performance by country superstar Jason Aldean, America sent home two musical hopefuls.
Team Adam
Bryan Keith, who showcased his raspy rock style with a well-received rendition of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" on Monday night, is the first to be saved by America's votes. Also in the top 10 from under Levine's wing is Amanda Brown, who ambitiously took on Florence and the Machine's "Spectrum," and Melanie Martinez, who shared her emotional side with Young the Giant's "Cough Syrup."

Team Cee Lo
After Monday night's performance of Huey Lewis' "Power of Love," Nicholas David moves onto next week's live show with Trevin Hunte, who took on Percy Sledge's "When a Man Loves a Woman." Green's playoff save, Cody Belew, also advances after performing Tina Turner's "Simply the Best."
Team Christina
Pop singer Sylvia Yacoub scored a spot in the top 10 with Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On," the first song she learned after moving to America. Dez Duron's rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" also collected enough votes overnight to join Yacoub.

Adriana Louise, who was saved by Aguilera in the playoffs and performed Carrie Underwood's "Good Girl" on Monday, was sent home.
Team Blake
Pop rocker Cassadee Pope is saved after singing Kelly Clarkson's "Behind These Hazel Eyes" on Monday, a song she performed with her estranged father in mind. She is joined by Scottish singer Terry McDermott, who covered Boston's "More Than a Feeling."
Michaela Paige, who was saved by Blake in the playoffs and tried her hand at P!nk's "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)," was also sent home. "This is her first stab at this thing, and she's gonna be a star," said Shelton to Paige. "You're gonna see her. Her big mohawk is gonna be walking across the stage at the Grammys."

These eliminations result after tallying more votes than the show collected for its season two finale, and every single artist charted on iTunes on Monday night.
