David Marshall Grant has set up projects at HBO, CBS and the CW.
First, the premium cable network is developing a comedy about three friends in San Francisco who explore the fun and sometimes overwhelming options available to a new generation of gay men.
The untitled project hails from Remember Me associate producer Michael Lannan, who will co-produce and pen the script alongside Brothers & Sisters showrunner David Marshall Grant. Bored to Death's Sarah Condon will executive produce alongside Grant.
The untitled Lannan project marks his first major writing credit. His résumé also includes writing, directing and producing the 2009 short Lorimer, serving as an assistant producer on Rubicon, Sons of Anarchy and an AD on Nurse Jackie.
Grant most recently served as a writing exec producer on NBC's Smash and penned an episode of ABC's freshman musical drama Nashville. He's repped by ICM Partners, CAA and Untitled Entertainment.
The project marks a homecoming for Condon, who served as an executive producer on the network's Bored to Death for its three-season run. HBO canceled the Jason Schwartzman comedy in December. In addition to the Lannan comedy, Condon is exec producing family drama Darlings, which is in development at Bravo.
The untitled entry joins an HBO development roster that includes Hello Ladies, a comedy pilot from The Office's Stephen Merchant, and a basketball dramedy from Jeff Nathanson and Gavin Polone, among others.
Should the project move to series, it would join a roster of comedies that includes Veep, Girls, Enlightened and new addition Family Tree from Christopher Guest, among others.
Second, Grant is on board to write an untitled drama based on the Israeli series Ran Quartetfor CBS. The drama, created by Giyora Yahalom and Oren Jakobi, is a medical show centered around quadruplets. Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Yona Wiesenthal, Avi Armoza, Eilon Ratzkovsky, Yahalom, Jakobi, Tariq Jalil, Arik Kneller and David Garrett will executive produce via CBS Television Studios and Timberman Beverly Productions.
Third, the CW is finalizing a deal with Grant to executive produce a drama titled Blink. Written by Vera Herbert (Awkward), the CBS Television Studios is described as a dark family story about a girl whose father is in a coma. Grant will executive produce alongside Beverly and Timberman via their Timberman Beverly Productions banner.
