Kicking off the night with The Voice (down 11 percent with a 4.1 adults 18-49 rating), NBC scored a demo win for the night -- according to fast affiliate ratings. Go On (down a tenth of a point for a 2.5 adults rating) and New Normal (1.8 adults rating, a 10 percent drop from its last original) led into a mostly steady Parenthood (down one tenth of a point to a 1.9 adults rating). The network averaged a 2.7 rating with 18-49-ers for the night and 7.1 million viewers.
CBS saw new episodes of NCIS (down six percent to a 3.2 adults rating) and NCIS: LA (down 10 percent to a 2.7 adults rating). The latter topped its hour in the demo. Vegas was down 25 percent to pull a 1.5 rating, giving the network a 2.5 rating with adults 18-49 overall and a dominant 14.77 million viewers.

A steady Raising Hope (1.7 adults rating) kicked off Fox's slightly tweaked Tuesday. Ben and Kate jumped 17 percent to 1.4 rating in the demo, while New Girl was even with a 2.7 rating among adults 18-49. At 9:30, Fox aired its abbreviated and out of pattern episode of The X Factor. Programming issues around baseball season had the episode air until 10:30 p.m. and posting just a 2.4 with adults 18-49. The network averaged a 2.1 rating with adults 18-49 and 4.7 million viewers.
Dancing With the Stars had a one-hour performance show at 8 p.m., displaced by Monday's debate coverage. The episode was up 10 percent to pull a 2.2 rating with adults 18-49. That led into decent returns of Happy Endings and Don't Trust the B in Apt. 23. The former, seeing its strongest retention in a year, returned to a 1.9 rating with adults 18-49. Apt. 23 posted a 1.7 with adults 18-49. (Both shows had previously aired on Wednesdays with a Modern Family lead.) At 10 p.m., Private Practice, now officially in its swan song, fell 14 percent to a 1.4 in the demo. ABC averaged a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating and 7.5 million viewers.

On the CW, Hart of Dixie earned a 0.5 rating with adults 18-49, while the second outing of Emily Owens M.D. fell two tenths of a point to just a 0.3 in the demo against new scripted competition. The network averaged a 0.4 in the demo and 1.2 million viewers.
Univision averaged a 1.5 rating with adults 18-49.
