In a bit of history repeating itself, a rehearsal injury may keep Melissa Rycroft from performing during Monday's episode of Dancing With the Stars.

ABC released a statement describing the incident a few hours before the telecast is set to begin.

"Melissa Rycroft suffered an on set injury during yesterday’s Sunday camera blocking rehearsal and was immediately taken to the hospital," it reads. "We can confirm Melissa was diagnosed with a disc herniation at the C4-C5 level of her cervical spine. At this time, Melissa’s ability to perform in tonight’s show will be a show time decision."

Following yesterday's news of her trip to the hospital, Rycroft's rep released a statement to People: "Melissa was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she is currently being examined. She was accompanied to the hospital by her husband, Tye Strickland, and her dance partner, Tony Dovolani. Everyone is taking all necessary precautions at this time."

During her first turn on Dancing With the Stars in 2009, Rycroft suffered a hairline fracture in her ribs and couldn't perform during the competition's eighth week. Despite that handicap, she went on to finish in third place.

Rycroft and Dovolani were tied at the top of the leader board last week.
