TV Ratings: Sunday Night Football Wins Again as Scripted Competition Sees Boosts

With live sports (or NFL overage) airing on three of the big four last night, fast affiliate numbers are subject to change later in the day. But as it stands, NBC scored another win with Pittsburgh and Cincinnati showing at Sunday Night Football. Preliminary numbers have the game earning a 6.0 rating among adults 18-49. Following a 90-minute block of Football Night in America (2.8 adults rating), the network averaged a 4.8 adults rating and 12.8 million viewers.

CBS' evening line-up got off to a late start -- almost an hour -- with NFL overage pushing the primetime block to 7:56 p.m. 60 Minutes (up a whopping 75 percent) pulled a 3.5 adults rating when it finally aired, while The Amazing Race (2.3 adults rating) dropped 12 percent from last week. The Good Wife rose 12 percent to a 1.9 adults rating, and The Mentalist fell to a 1.5 in the demo. CBS averaged a 3.8 rating with adults 18-49 and 14.5 million viewers.

The only network without any sporting issues, ABC averaged a 2.3 rating with adults 18-49 and 7.3 million viewers. America's Funniest Home Videos was down seven percent to a 1.3 adults rating, while all scripted series saw growth. Once Upon a Time (3.3 adults rating) was up 10 percent, while Revenge (2.8 adults rating) jumped eight percent and 666 Park Avenue (1.8 adults rating) was up 20 percent.

Game six of the National League Championship Series gave Fox a preliminary 1.7 rating with 18-49-ers that will most likely change when time zone adjustments are available. The preceding MLB Pregame Show earned a tentative 1.3 in the demo.

Univision earned a 1.1 adults rating for the night.
