President Obama took to radio personality Michael Yo's radio show over the weekend to discuss the most important issue on the minds of American voters -- and it wasn't the economy. The president of the United States took a strong stance on the feud between American Idol judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey.
"I think that they are going to be able to sort it out," Obama said. "I am confident."

The issue has rattled the world, including singers Stevie Nicks, Voice judge Cee Lo Green, ex-judge Steven Tyler and most, recently, American Idol alum and Oscar Winner Jennifer Hudson, who told TMZ, " I think it's just for ratings for the show."
Regardless of the reason, Obama is pleading for peace for the good of the public.
"I'm all about bringing people together, working for the same cause," he said. "I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure that they're moving forward and not going backwards."
And when asked who's his favorite, Obama shockingly didn't play politics or waffle.

"Mariah. She's actually done some events for us. I've gotten to know her and [husband] Nick [Cannon]. She's a wonderful lady," he said. "Nicki, I don't know, but I've got her on my iPod."
This is the second time Obama has commented on Minaj while on the campaign trail. Just last month, the rapper ruffled feathers on a guest verse for Lil Wayne's new Dedication 4 mixtape. ("I'm a Republican, voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy bitches is fu*#in' up the economy," she raps on the cut "Mercy.") Obama was asked to comment on the song during a radio interview on Orlando'sPower 95.3.
"Yeah, I'm not sure that's actually what happened," he said during the September interview. "I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that. But she likes to play different characters. So I don't know what's going on there."

It did not appear Obama -- and apparently neither of his daughters -- had Minaj on his iPod at the time of the interview.
"I don't think they really listen to Nicki Minaj that much," he said. "But let's face it, they are now hipper than me. There's a certain point where your kids get old enough where they're hipper than you are."
