Though viewership for game one of the National League Championship Series (1.9 adults rating) did not rival much of its competition on the other networks, a half-hour of NFL Overrun (6.2 adults rating) and The OT (4.4 adults rating) did guarantee a second place finish for Fox. The network averaged a 2.7 rating with adults 18-49 and 8 million viewers.

CBS also saw its finish skewed by NFL overrun. Just north of 20-minutes worth of play delayed the start time of 60 Minutes (2.6 adults rating), skewing initial returns for the night. As it stands, The Amazing Race (2.6 adults rating) and The Good Wife (1.7 adults rating) were even, while The Mentalist saw a 25 percent boost to a 2.0 adults rating. The network averaged a 2.2 with adults 18-49 and 10.4 million viewers.
