American Idol winner Lee DeWyze is featured on the ninth episode of AOL’s Greetings From Home, a military-themed comedy web series starring Dash Mihok (I Am Legend), Missi Pyle and Estelle Harris.

The episode, titled "From Lee DeWyze With Love," involves a plot where each of the show's characters is competing to win a "Military Spouse of the Year" contest. While some try to win by baking cookies, speeding up a pregnancy or shipping a motorcyle, Mihok's character Pete attempts to get a greeting from the season nine Idol champ for his wife, who is deployed overseas. His teenage daughter, Becky (Evie Thompson) comes through after reaching DeWyze through his Facebook page and DeWyze appears at the end of the episode with a playful and comic greeting, followed by an acoustic performace of his song "Fight."

This isn't DeWyze's first acting role. In 2006, he appeared in a low-budget short horror film Deadscapes: Broken Road, portraying one of a trio of survivors in a land overrun with the undead.

The 12-episode series, a humorous look at a military dad who’s raising two unruly teens while their mother is deployed, debuted earlier this month. The show, produced by Berman/Braun, Vuguru and AOL, is written by Bill Rosenthal, Bill Masters and Michael Davidoff and directed by Jared Drake. BermanBraun partners Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun executive-produce the series.
