Taken 2 is expected to take a second straight weekend box office title.
Early estimates put the Liam Neeson thriller at approximately $23 million, which should be enough to beat Ben Affleck’s new release Argo ($18 million) and the animated Hotel Transylvania ($17 million).
The horror film Sinister is not far behind, projected to hit roughly $16 million.
Kevin James’ mixed martial arts tale Here Comes The Boom should place fifth with $11 million.
The college a cappella comedy Pitch Perfect is next with $8.5 million, followed by Frankenweenie ($6.5 million) and Looper ($6.2 million).
The Top 10 should round up with Seven Psychopaths ($3.5 million) and Atlas Shrugged Part 2 ($1.5 million), although all totals are just estimates at this point.
