“Kristen Stewart and Jennifer Lawrence are putting up their thespian dukes!” declares Star magazine.
Oh boy.
According to the tabloid, “The rival starlets were battling for the lead role in the upcoming adaptation of William Styron’s 1951 novel, Lie Down in Darkness, and insiders tell Star that [Lawrence] became enraged when she learned that the Twilight actress had won the contest.”
“Jennifer was fuming after she heard Kristen got the part,” says a so-called “spy” for the magazine.
The Star source continues, “She thinks Kristen got it because she made headlines for cheating on [Robert Pattinson] and the filmmakers want publicity for the movie — not because she’s a great actress who deserves the role.”
A couple of things.
First, Kristen Stewart has NOT won the Lie Down in Darkness role.
It has not been officially offered to her, Lawrence, or anyone else.
Second, it would be nice if tabloids would quit manufacturing a “war” between Lawrence and Stewart.
Lawrence herself has laughed off the fake feud, and while Star and its sister outlet RadarOnline love pitting the two actresses against each other, it’s pure tabloid fantasy.
A source close to The Hunger Games star tells Gossip Cop it’s “100 percent untrue” that there’s any bad blood whatsoever.
When Lie Down in Darkness casting decisions are made official, Gossip Cop will have it.
And Star will still be trolling the gutters for whatever tired, mean-spirited nonsense the magazine next decides to sell its readers.
