The first trailer has debuted for Chasing Mavericks, the surfing movie that got star Gerard Butler trapped in some dangerous waves during filming.
Butler portrays a mentor to Jay Moriarty, who goes on to become a legendary surfer in his own right.
Jonny Weston, Leven Rambin, Abigail Spencer and Elisabeth Shue also star.
The movie opens in October.
