RECAP

(ABC)

On Monday’s episode of “The Bachelorette,” Emily Maynard had the tough job of narrowing down her six remaining suitors and deciding whose hometowns she wants to visit.

To help make the decision, Maynard went on three 1-on-1 dates as well as a group date in Prague.

Arie scored the first solo date, but the romantic setting was overshadowed by Maynard’s knowledge that the race car driver had a “very brief” relationship with “Bachelorette” producer Cassie Lambert several years ago – which he hadn’t told the single mom about.

If he’s okay hiding [that], what the f**k else is he hiding?” Maynard asked Lambert, who is now engaged to someone else, as they discussed the issue.

Off-camera, the three ended up having a private conversation, where Arie said he thought the relationship occurred so long ago that it was irrelevant.

Maynard forgave and forgot, and the two were back on track by the evening portion of their date – where Arie confessed he was in love with her.

The next one-one-one went to John, who had yet to have the honor of a solo date, and he revealed he’s been pretty guarded because one of his prior girlfriends cheated on him, making him wary of being vulnerable.

But now he was convinced Maynard is someone he could fall in love with.

Sean, Doug and Chris, much to their chagrin, were chosen for the group date. Sean, however, chose to take matters into his own hands, and sneaked out the night before to pay Maynard a private visit.

On the group date, the three bachelors joined Maynard at a 13th century castle, where each guy had a small amount of time alone with her.

Despite just having their first kiss, Maynard was still upset by Doug’s closed-off behavior and his reluctance to show physical interest in her, prompting her to send him home while still on the date.

After make-out sessions with both Chris and Sean, Maynard gave Sean the rose, saying she was ready to meet his family.

The final one-on-one date went to Jef, who only further solidified his bond with Maynard by discussing their potential future – including life with her daughter Ricki - and common goals.

At the rose ceremony, Maynard chose to forgo the cocktail ceremony and skip right to awarding her final three roses.

After giving them to - SPOILER ALERT! – Jef and Arie, only John and Chris remained.

Chris, feeling blindsided and like he missed earlier opportunities to tell her how he really felt, interrupted the proceedings and asked to have one last private talk.

The 25-year-old apologized for taking his time with Maynard for granted, and revealed he was truly falling in love with her and ready to be the man she and Ricki deserved.

Maynard was receptive – and ended up giving him the final rose.

She explained to a “shocked” and “hurt” John that their relationship just wasn’t progressing as fast as the others.
