The Black Keys have filed copyright infringement lawsuits against Pizza Hut and The Home Depot.
Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, who comprise the rock band, claim the companies did not have the right to use two hit songs from the duo’s El Camino album in television commercials.
According to the documents, filed in federal court on Thursday, Pizza Hut used “Gold on the Ceiling” in a recent ad (without The Black Keys’ permission), while Home Depot incorporated elements of “Lonely Boy.”

The Black Keys are seeking more than $75,000 in damages from both companies, as well as an order stopping the songs’ continued commercial use.
The lawsuits say both Pizza Hut and Home Depot were given written notice that their ads misused the band’s music without permission.
Pizza Hut’s ad using “Gold on the Ceiling” is for its “Cheesy Bites Pizza,” while Home Depot included “Lonely Boy” in a spot for Ryobi power tools.
