Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are not having a Thanksgiving reunion, despite a new tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the report. We’re told such an event is unlikely to happen.
OK!, knowing its new issue will be on newsstands through the holiday weekend, is running a deceptive cover that was designed to make readers think Jolie and Pitt did, in fact, jointly spend the day together. “Brad & Angie Thanksgiving Reunion,” it’s exclaimed. Other teaser lines read, “Their first words to each other,” and “Brad’s tearful apology to Maddox.”
It’s a bait-and-switch, of course, since Thanksgiving hasn’t actually happened yet. So inside the edition, the story is all about the estranged spouses alleged plans to call a “ceasefire” and “holiday truce.” It’s asserted, “Brad is again planning to spend his favorite holiday with his whole family, thanks in part to a heartfelt plea from his 10-year-old daughter, Shiloh.”
A so-called “insider” claims she’d been “begging Brad and Angelina for weeks to start being nice to each other. Then she sent then both an emotional email, asking for the family to spend Thanksgiving together. She let them know that it was what the kids were hoping for.”
According to the magazine, “Faced with that kind of pressure, Angelina couldn’t help but soften her stance. So, the source says, she bypassed the attorney middlemen and called Brad directly.” The alleged tipster contends, “It was a totally aboveboard conversation. He thanked her for the invitation and she said, ‘I think it’ll be good for us.’ [But] it’s only a temporary truce.”
And yet, tellingly, OK! doesn’t seem to know much about what the Thanksgiving plans actually entail. Nothing is said, for instance, where this “reunion” is taking place, what exactly the family will do, or if any other relatives will be involved. Curiously, the only details provided are that Pitt will cook the turkey, “just as he’s done for years,” and Jolie has hired caterers for the rest.
“Brad’s incredibly apprehensive about the thought of meeting Angelina face-to-face,” alleges the outlet’s supposed source. “But he’d put up with almost anything for the chance to spend Thanksgiving with his kids.” Despite these claims, however, Gossip Cop has learned that holiday plans for the family are actually somewhat up in the air, and it is highly unlikely to involve Pitt and Jolie reuniting for a joint celebration. The cover story, we’re told, is simply untrue.
